another attempt of compromise

February 2nd 2019

Dear Mutsumi,

How are you doing?

I have known that you went to the Italian Embassy with Haruka. It is good to know that she is well. I would like to see her and pass some time with her.

I am writing you because, once again, I would like to find a compromise. I would like to speak between two adults that act in an international way.

I am not in anger with you anymore... I am just sad because everybody can see my daughter and I am the only one who cannot.
But deeply inside me, I am still really happy of having known you. I really thank you for the chance you gave me and the beautiful moments passed together. With you I have get the part I was missing of the whole picture to understand life and society.
I apologize for having been so nervous with you in the past; I was so tired and stressed. I have tried what I could and it wasn’t enough. You have made me a big gift for life that I haven’t been able to give back, I am sorry!

In court I have done well. I liked myself and I don’t look for any kind of revenge.
I know that you lied about your staying in Italy: you went in Naples and Amalfi too (I always desired to go there together with you). However I will not say to anybody about your lies. I think that you already have put yourself in a bad position. I don’t want to push it too far. I don’t have any interest to make things worst. I hope that everything will finish with the judjment on March the 8th.

I think that I have done what I could to show my goodwill and good faith. I have done what I had to do in order to try to create a relationship with Haruka. She is my daughter too, even though Japanese law consider me an alien. Fighting more it may be too dangerous, not for me, but for your and Haruka’s life. I am tired. And I have to think for my future since it seems I have developed some health problem (multiple sclerosis?). There is the need of other medical tests though. It might be something else.

I just don’t understand why you cannot see that my only aim is to really love and help Haruka and not harm you. I have tried everything.

Bye.

Andrea

P.S.: Don't let your mental illness overwhelm your intelligence. Your intelligence is crystalline, evident; you see things that other people cannot. Your only problem is your anxiety and your impulsiveness. You want your desires realized immediately, you are unable to wait, and it often ends that you lose everything. It is a pity, because you are a great person!

Perplessità

January 25th 2019

Buongiorno Dottor Lattanzi,

Mandi

Andrea

Visita consolare Haruka Meneghetti

Gentilissimo Dottor Lattanzi,

Distinti Saluti.

Anniversary + Dead Man Walking

January, 15th 2019

Dear Mutsumi,
Today it would be our Anniversary. I remember well that day of 5 years ago. Many things happened and many things changed in the meanwhile.
I clearly understand when you say that you cannot accept my present. I will keep it like all the presents I did you. Who knows if one day we will laugh on all this, using these presents to remember our lives.
However, I want to explain what the present is: it is a “crystal bomboniera”, similar to those we used to do presents at our wedding. This present hasn’t an important economical value. This present is important for the idea it is behind: it wanted to substitute the broken bomboniera you held because you gave the good one to your friend (who was divorcing as well in those days, if I remember well). I have always seen in that broken bomboniera as a bad omen: my love for you was not broken and not cheap.
Anyway, things have gone to another direction, also for my fault. And hopefully Haruka will be the beautiful diamond of our past relationship.
About Haruka, I still strongly hope you may consider to let me have a little space in her life. Now I know that there is a Japanese culture that says “forget your child if you don’t live with her” . But I really cannot understand. It is against every ethics on life and on society I have. The idea of her and not having the chance to see her growing, put me in despair. I am a dead man walking. I may not survive this (I don’t want to be too much tragic… but…). I have done many efforts to be better, but if I cannot have a hope, I don’t know…
I hoped to establish a light friendship with you, in order to cope with the possible meetings with Haruka. I have given up also about it, suffering a lot… You meant a lot for me, in my all life, not only as a mate, but as a person who came in my life. It is hard to erase you. However it was interesting see how much you changed too.
So, I will try to disappear till the judgment, in March. Having the judgment, I will decide what to do and how to proceed. I hope you may suspend, as well, the idea of erasing me completely from Haruka’s life.
Bye!
Andrea

Re: Last meeting with Haruka and last small present

January 12th 2019

Andrea

I’ve not been in my area from yesterday. And I’ll not return for a while.
So, I cannot meet you this time, and as you know I cannot accept anything you bring. I hope someday I can see your’s, but at this moment, it’s impossible.

I will not tell Haruka about you badly. Because my feelings are mine and I will never think you’re a bad father.
I hope you to know that I will do anything for Haruka’s happiness even though it will quite hard for me.
She is a independent person and I will not forget it.

Thank you a lot.

Mutsumi

Last meeting with Haruka and last small present

January, 12th 2019

Dear Mutsumi,
It is really likely that you will have the parental authority on Haruka. This means that I will never see you and Haruka again.
As well, I will not have the chance to be in Japan for long time.
Is then possible to have another meeting with Haruka? Probably the last meeting? I will be in your area for at least other four days, till the 15th of January. (The police already know it!)
The 15th of January it is also our last anniversary since we will be soon divorced. I have a little present for you, just to finish kindly our relationship.
If you want to accept the present, but not letting me see Haruka, may I leave the present somewhere? I will be very fast and I will try to avoid to bother you in anyway.
There is also a little present for Haruka. It is a knitted hat (child size) made by my mother many years ago. I think this hat is still really beautiful and it is "new" because nobody ever used it.
I know that it is quite impossible, but if you want to do the meeting, I will pay for everything and if you want have a trip, I will pay everything as well.
I know that monday is a holiday.
Please let me know.
I apologise if I have bothered you.
Bye.
Andrea
